What happens in the chair?
Every installation begins with an in-person consultation. We assess your hair, discuss your goals, choose a method and size, and plan a realistic timeline. Prices vary with density, texture, and length.
Installation
Consultation — 30 minutes: $50. Required in person before all installations.
Interlocking: Small from $1,100; Medium from $950.
Braidloc: Small from $850; Medium from $700.
Two-Strand Twist: Small from $500; Medium from $400; Large from $300.
Prices are based on 4 inches of hair. Add $50 for every inch beyond 4 inches.
Maintenance — Microloc Retie
Retightens new growth while preserving loc size, shape, and pattern. Installation is excluded. Extra time: $50/hour.
New Transfer Client: 5 hours, from $250.
Perimeter Touch-Up: 1.5 hours, from $90.
Full Head — 8 weeks or less: 4 hours, from $200.
10 weeks: 5 hours, from $250.
12 weeks: 6 hours, from $300.
14 weeks: 7 hours, from $350.
16 weeks: 8 hours, from $400.
Traditional & Other Services
Traditional Locs: Full installation or maintenance tailored to your hair and goals. From $500.
Palm Roll — Full Head: Shape and structure maintenance. From $105.

Reties are generally recommended every 5–8 weeks, depending on your hair and loc needs. Your first retie is typically around five weeks after installation. Book ahead to keep your maintenance on schedule.

Gentle handling, a clean scalp, and avoiding excessive tension can help preserve the condition of locs between visits. A loctician provide  a simple home-care routine that fits the needs of the hair and locs.

### What should I consider before starting locs?

Starting locs involves choosing a method, size, and maintenance approach that align with the hair and the desired long-term look. A consultation with a professional can help clarify these choices and set realistic expectations for the journey.

### What are your booking policies?

A deposit is required to secure your appointment. Please provide at least 48 hours’ notice if you need to reschedule. Arrive alone: guests and extra children are not permitted in the studio. Review the current policies on @_ladylocstarstudio’s Instagram before booking, including late cancellation, no-show, and installation deposit terms.
